9 Month Check Up Today

So Brennan is almost 9 months old and today was her office visit. Sigh....it was a quite a day (I'll spare you all the details). In a nutshell she is doing great, she is 16 lbs 9oz, 27.5 inches long and in % terms she is in the 25% for weight and 50% for height! To use the doctor's terms she is "long and lean!" There were no shots today which was great but we did have to walk across a very long (and hot) parking lot to the lab to have blood taken to check her lead levels. One of the benefits of living in Pasadena is living in an old cottage with lots of charm, however...with an old cottage comes leads issues that need to be addressed. So...they took Brennan's blood to check for lead and during the walk from the doctor's office to the lab Brennan managed to eat the perscription for the blood work. ARGH! I had to call the doctor's office, explain that my daughter had literally consumed the paper work and have them fax it over to the lab. So, we sit and wait. To make a long story short, her blood was taken, she screamed, it was sad, etc. but we're all done with the doctor until her 1 year appointment~ who hoo!! Here is a pic of my sweet girl from today.

Happy Birthday Kristen!

Today my dear friend Kristen turned 29 on the 29th so it was her magical birthday. We celebrated with a little Mexican food, cake and kiddos. (Kristen just found out she's preggers so another reason to celebrate!)

Hot Summer Day at the Pool w/ WHS Moms

Warehouse Moms (my church mom's group) had a pool day in the 90+ degree weather. It was so nice to just swim and relax with good friends and our cute kids. Several people couldn't make it which is always a bummer, but it was a very fun afternoon and Brennan loved being in the water! Enjoy the pics~

60 and a Surprise!

My mom turned 60 on July 14th and my sisters had the brilliant idea of throwing her a surprise party w/ her closest girlfriends and flying me (and Brennan) up to surprise her at the party. It was a success! My mom was SO clueless and the look on her face was priceless! It was a lovely afternoon of sipping tea and eating yummies at the Queen Mary in Seattle. Almost all of my mom's bestest friends were able to make it and she had a special afternoon of feeling very loved and celebrated. There is an old adage "To have a good friend, be a good friend"...I think my mom personifies this and I would say this special day was certainly a testament to that. Happy Birthday Mom! 4th of July and Kelly's 30th birthday!
