Ode to the Allchins

Dolores officially drives away to Chicago tomorrow, Ron and Olivia are already there. I have been putting off saying goodbye to her but know that tonight is coming quickly. We love you guys and you are already missed. Here are a few shots over the past several months that I love.

Osborn's Off to Oregon

Sad...Tim, Abby, Ethan, Max and Owen are heading out to Oregon this week. Today was the send off for the boys to say goodbye to their friends. There was a bounce house, pizza, ice cream, etc...a perfect chance for the kiddos to say farewell~we will miss you all more than you know.

Bath time is so much more fun now that I can sit up! I have several ducks to play with...some even glow in the water!

I Know Someone Who is About to Crawl...

The past few days I've gone into Brennan's room to get her up from her nap and she has been in the crawling position! This is a new thing, she typically is laying on her back smiling when I go to get her but now....trouble! My little sweet pea is gonna be on the move very shortly I think...no more relaxing for me!

Dolo's WHS Moms Goodbye Dinner

Last night was our WHS moms (+ Ginger :)) goodbye dinner for Dolores as she is moving in a week. It was a lovely evening of eating and chatting and appreciating our dear friend. It was pretty dark outside by the time the festivities were underway so not many pictures to share.

My W has arrived...FINALLY

So this may seem like a random post but I feel like for as long as I've waited, it deserves a post (and in keeping with the requests that my blog not only be about Brennan but also my favorite things :)). I ordered a "W" last October...was told it would take about 6 wks to come in from France. Well, today is August 21st and I just picked it up. I had forgotten what it looked like but am pleased with it and think it was worth the wait!

Lauren's Birthday Breakfast

Tomorrow is actually Lauren's birthday but we celebrated today at Julienne in San Marino. It was a lovely breakfast of creme brulee french toast, open face omelets, and blueberry pancakes with lemon curd and seasonal berries~ YUM! Of course ending our meal with yummy cupcakes. Happy Birthday Lauren!

A Neat Picture

For those of you who may not know already, my daughter was named after a Christian author named Brennan Manning. Brennan has written many books and spends his days traveling the world telling people of God's unconditional love and grace for them (thus, Brennan Grace).

Brennan's most famous book is called "The Ragamuffin Gospel" and I'm currently reading it for the 4th time. Adam mailed me this book after talking with me for 2 seconds and said it changed his life and he hoped I would be equally blessed by it. Adam has bought a million copies of this book (not literally, but close :)) and gives it away to any one who he thinks needs to read it. I would highly recommend this book to any one, and although I'm on my 4th read it still hits me as if it was my first. The reason I felt prompted to write about this today was because of this neat picture that Brennan paints on pg. 168 "I could more easily contain Niagara Falls in a tea cup than I can comprehend the wild, uncontainable love of God." Wow....pretty amazing. Anyway, I just thought I'd share in hopes that any of you reading this would be encouraged and amazed at God's love for you and excited and blessed by it like I was today.

And because blog posts are so much more fun with pictures, here's a recent pic of Brennan Grace...according to Brennan Manning she is the 78th person to be named after him but only the 2nd girl!

Sitting Up

Brennan is starting to sit up on her own! Since she was early she is developmentally about 7.5 months old and is just now getting the hang of her new trick. We are thrilled!! Had to commemorate...
