Fun Times at the Park

Just another day at the park with my sweet pea and my camera ~ enjoy!

Typical California driver, glaring at the person riding her tale!
Oh wait...maybe just making eyes at the handsome boy?
She loves to swing, the faster the better!

One Year Ago Today....

we brought Brennan home! After 26 LONG days in the NICU Brennan came home on November 28th weighing approximately 4.5lbs. Today is a special day and worth commemorating over here at the Winn household. Its been really neat to see God's faithfulness to us in watching our healthy baby get bigger and stronger with each day. I heart November 28th. :)

Dots

Every year I select a theme for my Christmas presents and this year its dots. Since our families don't live close I try to get my shopping done a little early so I can ship it all w/out having to pay those crazy "get it there by Christmas" fees they charge. My goal this year was to be done by 12/1, I'm close...not sure I'll make it but I feel good about the progress so far. I always hold my breath until my mom or Kemi assure me my box has arrived. As much as I have enjoyed the pretty dots I have to admit, I cannot wait to have them boxed and shipped and out of my very tiny house! Goodbye dots, hope to see you again next month!

Christmas Cards

I love Christmas cards...I love getting them, giving them, thinking about what mine will look like, searching for the "perfect card", etc.. Well, this year I had a vision, I wanted Brennan smiling and looking like the adorable baby she is and me and Adam to have a nice smile, everyone looking at the camera, a cold, wintry look to it (yeah right, we live in southern California), etc. Well, that's the thing about visions, they are just that- a vision and not necessarily a reality. Needless to say our Christmas card this year is not perfect, not my vision and I don't LOVE it like I wanted to. I don't want to make it sound bad b/c it certainly isn't...just not my vision. Sigh...oh well, there's always next year right?

Here are some shots from a photo shoot that we totally tossed out~ah the joys of trying to take a good picture with a 1 year old. Enjoy and may you get a good chuckle. (Oh -and MANY thanks to Kel for enduring this torture...twice)

Hangin' With The Roushs

As mentioned below, Rob and Kacey were in town this weekend from Missouri. We had a great time with our sweet friends but of course it went way too fast. We had the opportunity to go to a Clippers game which was a lot of fun, here we all are enjoying our night out! We miss you guys!

The Gang

Good Friends (incase you were wondering, Jeff is wearing a suit b/c he works for the Clippers and he has no choice :)) ~Thanks for the great tickets Jeff!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today was so much fun! The Roushs are here visiting from Missouri and we all had a great time eating, chatting, laughing and just enjoying the day. I have never cooked for Thanksgiving before but today Kristen and I worked our fingers to the bone! Everything tasted sooo good and you couldn't beat the company. Rob and Kacey announced today at dinner that they are expecting their first child this summer! We are SO excited for them and can't wait to meet our new "niece" or "nephew"~ its about time Roushs! :)

Here's the gang

Jeff and Rob were up every 2 hours last night checking the smoker to make sure the turkey was okay, here they are proud of their efforts! (nice work men, it was SO good!)

Anna and Kristen made little turkey place cards for everyone, so cute!

SO Thankful

Here we are, the eve of Thanksgiving! Adam and I were reflecting about last year's turkey day and how we were in the NICU all day and escaped to Cocos (which, for those of you who may not know, its essentially a Denny's) for a quick dinner. I remember it being odd/sad/weird that it was our first Thanksgiving as a family and yet, we were with no family and looking around at the others at Cocos and wondering why they were there instead of being in a warm, cozy home with their loved ones. Needless to say, we were SO thankful then for our little girl and happy to be where we were and this year which will be a fun, non-traditional Thanksgiving with friends (who are like family) we are happy to be here with our big girl. We do indeed have a lot to be thankful for and are so excited to have Brennan with us around the table this year. So to each of you reading this I ask, what are you thankful for?

This year (about 19lbs)

Turkey Party

Every year Kelly holds her annual turkey party the Saturday before Thanksgiving and every year I look forward to it! It is a FEAST I tell you! We all bring a side dish and Kel makes the turkey. So really, those attending get Thanksgiving twice! This year was amazing just like every other year~thanks Kel for a wonderful night and tradition.

The Gang (minus Abs and Tim and of course Adam who is always out of town on this weekend) and thanks Kel for the pic. :)

YUM

My contribution, chocolate pumpkin cake ~pretty darn good if I do say so myself!

So tastey...

www.tinysprouts.com

Check out this website! Darling clothes for little ones. Brennan was one of the lucky kiddos who got to model these cute clothes, thanks Shannon (http://www.madisonavephotography.com/) for the darling photos of my tiny sprout.

Tat Time

So there must be something in the air because I know 5 people who have gotten tattoos (for the first time~no repeaters) in the past couple of months. Last night I joined Sarah and her husband Tim while Sar got tatted up-OUCH! Sarah was a rock star and merely winced from time to time, I kept reminding her that she pushed out a 9lb baby with no drugs, this was nothing! (Like I know right? no tat and only a drugged c-section to speak of) :) Anyway, it was fun to be there to support my dear friend and attempt to offer a little distraction. I think the finished result turned out great! Enjoy my sweet friend, may it be an eternal reminder to in fact be still and know that God is God and you are loved more than you can fathom.

She's so hard core :)

The Final Result

This pic of me and Sar I stole from her...thanks Sar :)

Sweet Girl

This is one of those "just because" posts. Just because I love these pics and think Brennan is SO yummy. Enjoy~

Sleeping Beauty

I peeked in on Brennan taking her nap and had to snap this picture! I think it is SO precious how she is laying on the bumper like its a pillow with the sunlight coming through her blind on her head. Not much sweeter than a sleeping baby...little angel.

Celebrating 30

Every year Lauren and/or Kelly make me an amazing birthday cake and this year was no exception! Last night some friends came over to help me eat it and to usher in my 30's. Thanks sweet friends for my lovely evening and for making me feel so special and loved. I love my birthday!

I had to post this card from Kelly...love it.

My Birthday Night!

Last night the cute newlyweds Daniel and Becky came over to watch B so Adam and I could go out to dinner. In a nutshell, it was divine. If any of you reading this have never been to The Melting Pot you MUST try it! A culinary experience to die for I tell you! Fondue has never tasted so good and we also had the sweetest booth in the whole place! It was a lovely dinner and evening with my sweet husband~ so far I'm digging 30!

(The bling around my neck was from Adam~so pretty!)
