My hands are literally still shaking. We JUST had an earthquake! I swear, everything they teach you just goes out the window! (well, it did for me anyway). Brennan had just gone down for a nap and I picked her up and ran outside! I think I was supposed to stand in a doorway or something right? Man, that was scary, I don't think it was big enough to cause damage but it was scary and lasted for at least 15 LONG seconds. Sigh...maybe its time to leave California?
*Update -the TV says it was a 5.4 -YIKES!

Oh, the joys of living in Southern California! I remember it well.
maybe a sign for me NOT to move to Southern California!
I JUST heard about this from Cathy...tried to call you on your cell phone to see if you were ok...wouldn't go through....are you OK??????? Is Brennan ok? When is Adam leaving with her?
Please call me when you can....

I see on fox that it was centered in Chino Hills...lovely.
How is it that earthquakes make seconds feel like minutes? I was sitting in a restaurant across the street from my office, and I felt the little pre-shocks that came before the big jolt and rolling. So I was prepared and ready for it to hit. The waitress, on the other hand, must not have felt the little rumbling just before, because when it really hit she clutched her chest, ran for the closest wall crying "Dios Mio!", and then clung to the wall until it stopped.
I just realized that instead of commenting that story on your blog I should have posted it on my own so that I could fulfill my promise to you to post this week. Rats. Maybe I still will.....
Glad it was just scary. And everyone is ok. My kids still remember me racing in and putting everyone on the lower level of the bunk bed. Now that they are parents maybe I wouldn't appear so crazy after all.

I, too, forgot all advice about handling earthquakes. First I ran to the bathroom doorway (why? I don't know). Then when it kept going on and on I went outside where I quickly realized that roof tiles would kill me. Autumn's family lives in Chino Hills. I tried to use the phone to confirm safety of loved ones, but it wouldn't let me call. I DO NOT like earthquakes. Glad you and Brennan and Adam are safe.
