I Almost Forgot....
...my end of the month photo. In my stooper it almost slipped my mind but alas, even though I don't feel like blogging right now my Type A personality won't let me not do it. So, enjoy one of my favorite pics of my sweet pea from January.

Right Now I Wish....
I was back in Pasadena. Back in my house. Back with my friends. Back in familiar territory. I miss being known. I miss being around people my own age, being with my friends kids and watching them interact with B. I miss running to target...the little things. Right now I just want to be home.
Daddys Home!! Daddys Home!!
While Brennan and I were playing blocks yesterday Adam walked in the door! It was SO fun to watch Brennan get so excited to see daddy! She let out the cutest girly squeal and started jumping around on her knees -so cute!! My rugged mountain man was exhausted and super sore, poor guy hiked 17 miles in 6 ft of snow the past 4 days! He was so worn out but showered and came out and played with the sweet pea. We are both sooo glad he's home!
He made it!!

Yeah, he's home!!

Our First Mountain Visitor!
One of my favoritist people in the world came up to visit me and B this weekend, Kelly was here! The weekend went by sooo fast and I was heartbroken as she drove away but we had a great day and a half and I so appreciated her driving 5 hours to get here! Here is a snapshot of our time together...
Kel and me

Kel took this pic and I love it, of course B is looking at a dog -one of the only things that can get a smile out of her when the camera is around!

Kel gets the credit for this one too...

Snow Baby
Today was Brennan's first real time playing in the snow and she loved it! She loves eating snow and sticking her whole face in it! Her nose, lips, and cheeks were all red from the constant face plant, pretty funny! Here are some of my favorite shots from our fun afternoon.
More Snow=Power Outage
So we woke up to about a foot of snow and no power...BUMMER. Adam and the students/staff, etc. were supposed to leave today for Trek #1 -a 5 day hike in the mountains, sleeping in snow, etc. They have decided to not leave until tomorrow but are doing "team activities" all say so B and I are left to fend for ourselves. Thankfully after about 5 hours of no power it finally came back on! I feel like I can handle anything as long as I have power. Here is what our morning looked like:

It's Snowing, It's Snowing!!
Martin the Dutch Biker
I had the pleasure of eating dinner with a very interesting man last night, Martin (Mar-teen). Let me back up, every night all the students, staff, etc. eat dinner together. We all get to the dining hall at 6pm, get in a big circle, hold hands, pray, and then sit together and eat. The great thing is I don't have to cook dinner and its fun to sit with different and fun people each night (and the food is SO good)! Well, last night one of the professors brought a guest! Don (the PE prof) ran into this guy Martin at the local KFC and they got chatting and Don invited him to stay the night at his house! So, Don brought Martin to dinner and they sat at my table and I got to hear all his cool stories! Martin is from Holland and has been BIKING around the world for 5 years, having gone home only once. His stories were amazing!! After he biked the whole continent of Africa he went home to Holland and wrote a book about it! The book was published and he gets the royalties...unfortunately the book is in Dutch so I don't get the pleasure of reading it -(but Kelly and Brandi you both could right?!)
It was a very interesting dinner conversation, one I could've listened to for hours...he was shot at by a drunken soldier in Angola and almost died, he got malaria in Africa and woke up in some random hospital, had an interesting encounter with bears in Russia, etc...I could go on and on...he was a very unique individual who speaks 4 languages fluently and had the whole table hanging on every word he said. I wish I could've sat there longer but alas, had to be a responsible parent and get B to bed. Thanks Martin for your stories and for sitting at my table, Godspeed on the rest of your 1-3 year journey!

Alfalfa
This is just a silly post....thought Brennan's "alfalfa" hair was pretty amusing....

(*sorry I forgot to post this earlier...special thanks for all the prayers about the Indiana job, unfortunately they aren't flying Adam out, in a nutshell he appears to be a little too liberal for them so...back to the drawing board. Please keep those prayers coming though and we'll keep you posted on our next adventure!)

Operation: Celebrating Meredith
So today cute little Meredith turns 27. Meredith has been out of town all weekend celebrating her b-day w/ her real BFF (whatever) who was down visiting from Seattle (side note-Meredith and I are both from Washington). So, I had this clever idea that I would nicely decorate Meredith's room so when she came home tonight she would feel well celebrated and loved. Well...someone had already beat me to it!! Hmpf!
Here I am about to go out into the cold to hang her sign at the entrance of camp, thankfully no one stole that idea from me!

Here is my car as I'm about to drive up to Meredith's house...all the goods (at this time I didn't know my plan was thwarted)

Here I am -proud of my idea and hard work!

Ta-da!

So I open the door to Meredith's room and this is what I see:

Sigh...MAJOR bummer, but since I'm there I decide to throw my balloons in there too....

And since the front room wasn't touched I thought I'd add some birthday decor there too...

Meredith wanted rainbow chip cake...I know, sad it isn't even in a circle or anything but there are no baking pans in this place and my cake carrier is in storage! (sorry M)
As I type Meredith still isn't back from her weekend away...hope she feels loved and not annoyed.
Dear Meredith, I hope you feel very loved and celebrated, however, if you feel annoyed and are irritated that your room is a death trap I feel that you should direct your anger toward Ashley and Naomi as they are the real culprits....I was just going to put some lovely, harmless, non-invasive balloons in your room to make you smile, so really...I had nothing to do with it. Happy 27th birthday!!
Love,
Molly
