I'm officially on my road trip to Wyoming so there will be a bit if a blog lull but here is my monthly photo of the ninner.

$1.50 Cheesecake Slice

Consider this a public service announcement. I just went to the Cheesecake Factory totally unaware that today is their 30th anniversary and you can get a slice of any of their cheesecakes for $1.50 (I'd highly recommend the Adams peanut butter cup fudge ripple). RUN people -run and get it!!!

We Just Had An Earthquake!!

My hands are literally still shaking. We JUST had an earthquake! I swear, everything they teach you just goes out the window! (well, it did for me anyway). Brennan had just gone down for a nap and I picked her up and ran outside! I think I was supposed to stand in a doorway or something right? Man, that was scary, I don't think it was big enough to cause damage but it was scary and lasted for at least 15 LONG seconds. Sigh...maybe its time to leave California?

*Update -the TV says it was a 5.4 -YIKES!

You Know You're Back In LA When...

you get a text message from your friend saying "So I can't make it to breakfast this morning, I was hanging out with Cuba Gooding Jr. last night and I'm really tired."

Um...dare I ask why I wasn't invited?!!

Still The One

Anyone who has been married for more than 30 seconds knows marriage is a lot of work! I'm a big fan of celebrating special days and my anniversary is one of them! In continuing with celebrating our 8 years of married life Adam and I decided to go back to where he proposed and renew our wedding vows. It was a sweet time, just the two of us, (well, and Kel who graciously captured our moment). Here's a peek at our time, I'd encourage all of you married folks out there to do the same! Grab a dress and some flowers and go be romantic!

18 month at almost 21 months

Let me first apologize for my lack of pictures but I don't have all my stuff here w/ me in CA so...pics coming soon, promise. :) Okay, so since we've been all over the place we have missed Brennan's well baby check ups, so today was her 18 month appointment (even though she's almost 21 months old!). So, the stats for the grandparents (and any other interested parties) -

Weight: 22lbs (10%)
Height: 33 3/4" (90%)
Head: 47cm (50%)

The dr was impressed w/ her MANY words and said she was doing great! So, who hoo!! She's moved up from the 5% to the 10% for weight, we're so proud. :) We've come a long way from 3lbs eh?

Going Back to Cali Cali Cali

So B and I flew to California last Sunday to meet up with Adam, its good to be here. Kinda weird being here and not living here but I love the familiarity that southern California brings. We're staying in Fuller housing, which is nice so to not have to hop from house to house and impose on our friends. So fun visiting with friends and having an opportunity to just hang out before heading to Ireland next month. The ol' blog won't be updated too much during this next week of visiting but I'm sure there will be plenty of pics after my road trip with Lauren and Kelly to Wyoming before heading back to Oregon at the beginning of August. :) Fun times.

Beep!

Today I was sitting on the couch next to Brennan and she started to get all irritated that the "pen" that is attached to her magnadoodle wouldn't detach from it and so I said (in my stern motherly voice) "Brennan, you don't get to act like that or you're going to go to bed." She looks at me very matter-of -factly and reaches up and pinches/honks my nose and says "beep!" I had to laugh, funny kid.

I Tried Something New

So I tried this recipe from Martha Stewart Living (04/07), super easy and super tastey! If you're looking for a simple dessert for 4 I'd highly recommend. (I used raspberries and marionberries rather than blackberries)

For the price of a latte' I bought these shoes! I don't have much to wear them with but who cares?! For $3.00 I was pretty pleased and figured even 1 wear was worth it! (they'll probably fall apart after that any way!) :) I love things like this. Simple pleasures.

It's Official...

...we really are moving to Ireland next month. Brennan and Adam's passports came in the mail the other day (I already had one from my trip to China a couple years ago and Adam's was expired since he's had his for years) and now its hitting me like a ton of bricks. I've had a couple people tell me they want to see B's passport picture so...here you go! Pretty cute I think. :) Wow... Ireland....wow. (side note: someone in Ireland sent Adam an email letting us know some things to expect, etc. and we were told that gas is $10.00 a gallon!! YIKES!)

GO HILLORY!!

Today I watched my sister-in-law, Hillory, compete in her gymnastics competition ~ I was so proud of her! She did a great job and I don't know about you, but how many 35 year-olds do you know that can do this?!! Way to go Hill!!!

Black Butte Summer '08

I have spent more time than I care to admit thinking about how I want to post our week at Black Butte. I took way too many pictures of course but seriously, there were just so many cute kiddos to snap away at!
