I was running around my house doing too many things at once and literally ran into a wall with my face and now have a purple cheekbone -OUCH. Then about an hour later I was turning to throw a towel in the dirty clothes basket and I slammed my elbow into the bedroom door. It was the kind of pain that renders you speechless, I literally was in so much pain in that moment I couldn't even talk, couldn't answer Adam when he asked if I was okay. I literally fell in the bed holding my elbow in a silent scream. OUCH. Seriously, stick a fork in me -I'm so done.
In other news, THANK YOU to all who weighed in on the Christmas tree poll, Adam and I read each and every comment and I WIN!! Here's the deal, there are likely going to be many Christmases where we can go chop down a tree, there likely won't be many Christmases that we can walk across the street and carry our tree home. Also, (and more importantly) we are going to Spokane this weekend to visit friends (WHO HOO!!) so time is of the essence. We've been talking about doing this trip for a while and we just decided to make this trip happen. I don't want to wait until we get back to get our tree, so, walking across the street it is!! With the way my day is going I'll probably get hit by a car in the 5 yards I have to walk so maybe we'll wait until tomorrow? So, thats the tree scoop, hope they have a pretty one! (and I can still take pictures even though we're walking 10 seconds). :)

Whew!
I'm feeling a lot less overwhelmed now. Thanksgiving was lovely, my house is in order, and my pictures are almost all edited!! WHO HOO!! I feel like I've gotten a lot accomplished in the last several days which helps my analness. :) I still have quite the to-do list going on, among the items is to finally get around to taking Brennan's 3 year birthday photos, only a month late. It'll happen, soon!!
Anyway, I'll stop rambling and show you all another cutie patootie Colorado family, adorable aren't they? Thanks for braving the cold guys, lovely to meet you! xo

Christmas Tree Poll
The past couple years we haven't been able to get a Christmas tree. Last year we were in Ireland and spent a month in the states for the holidays, the year before that we moved out of our house on December 22nd to move to Bass Lake. All that to say that this year I'm super excited to get and decorate our tree. Last night I looked out our front door and saw this:
(I took this pic standing on my porch to show HOW CLOSE we are)

COME ON!! How easy would it be to walk across the street and carry home our Christmas tree?! I'm thinking easy and simple, lets do it! Adam on the other hand is insisting that since we live in Oregon we must go out to the boonies and cut down our own tree. Sigh. I realize cutting down our own tree seems like a fun "Christmassy" thing to do but I don't know that I can get past the convenience of walking across the street and having the whole process over in a matter of minutes. So, this is where you all come in, I'm taking a poll - should we: a) walk across the street and get our tree and call it a day or b) go into the woods and cut down our own tree? Come on, lets hear it! I don't want to be lame but its just sooooooooooooo close!! Thoughts?

It all happened so fast!
When this cute family arrived for our shoot it was getting very very cold and then, it started snowing. It wasn't the white, pretty, flakey snow, no no, it was the rainy, cold, wet, sleety snow and it was chilly! It seemed like our shoot was over in no time as we had to wrap it up quickly since little Bailey wasn't feelin' it any more and my camera doesn't like to get wet. Even though it was a whirlwind I'm loving the way this family's pictures turned out. Thanks for being troopers Nielsens, short and sweet and almost painless right? :)

T-Day Prep
If any of you out there are overwhelmed say "I"....I!!! This has been a hectic time for me, I've been pretty overwhelmed to say the least. Sorry for my lack of personal posting but to be honest, I haven't had anything to post b/c all I've been doing is editing pics...literally. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving (I know...thanks for the newsflash) and I'm hosting it for the first.time.ever. I'm excited, it will be fun to make my table pretty, have my family over and make some yummy food. I'm not gonna lie, my mom is doing the heavy lifting but I am making several things, among them I'm going to try these. What are all of you making? How are all of you feeling the day before turkey day...overwhelmed? excited? calm? blah? I feel like I've been out of it lately, wanna know what all of you are up to.
More pics to come of course, HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone!!

The Lew Crew
I was really flattered when I got an email from Sabrina saying that she came across my blog via a link on our friend Jen's blog and that if I were ever in Colorado she would love to book a session with me. That email was the catalyst to my trip to CO! I emailed her back and said "I can come to Colorado!" It was so fun to meet and photograph Sabrina and her beautiful family. An hour after I landed in Denver I did Sabrina's shoot, we were racing against the weather and barely made it! I'm so glad everyone was so flexible and made this shoot happen on such short notice! Thanks Lews, it was truly a pleasure. xo

It was COLD out there!
I had a pretty sweet experience for my first time ever in Colorado! It was a lot of fun to stay with my friend Jen and meet some of her friends. When it was time for Jen's family shoot we didn't realize how quickly the temperature would change, when we got out of the car it was 34 degrees and SUPER windy -BRRRRRR!!! We didn't have much time before we were all numb and the kids were crying. Thankfully I was able to snap pretty fast and I think we walked away with some cute stuff. I took some pics of Jen and Dave and their little guy later at home after we had all thawed out. :) Great seeing you Schrock family, hope we can do it again! xo
