It all started on Tuesday when I went to pick B up at her last day of pre-school. There it was, the sign up sheet for what to bring for the pre-school potluck on Thursday. A couple moms were standing around and I asked them what I should bring, one of them pointed out that it was also the teacher's birthday in addition to it being the end of the year potluck. With this new info I decided to bring a cake, easy enough right? I saw
this cake and thought, that looks very pre-schoolish, I'll do that! Oh.my.word. this cake has literally taken over the past 2 days of my life (and dirtied every dish I own!). The first 2 I made were too thin so I changed my method and then only had enough for 4 cakes, then had to make a whole new batch the next day to make the last 2 layers. I had enough batter left over to make a whole other cake so B got her very own cake for really no reason. Maybe I should say its a "way to finish your first year of pre-school!" cake? Anyway, I've been neglecting pretty much everything else so I'm going to work on some wedding photos so I can actually have a blog post ready for Friday. Man I'm tired.

Being a cake baker, I know the time, effort and love that went into making that beautiful cake! Teacher Kelly will be thrilled, and the smile on little B's face with her very own cake was worth it all!

What a cool cake! I know what you mean about dirtying all your dishes. I made my dad a b-day cake on Sunday and I'm STILL trying to get the kitchen put back together!
Nice! Was it a hit??
Love B's happy smiling face, sitting next to her cake!
