Independence Day 2010

Yesterday at church the question was asked "have you ever been out of this country and realized how much you've missed it?" (I'm paraphrasing here, it was something like that) and inside I was thinking "YES!!!" As I've mentioned before, I wouldn't trade our year in Ireland for anything, Europe is amazing and I cannot wait to get back, but I tell you what, that experience gave me American pride that I didn't even know I had. Not in the "I just love all the modern conveniences of America" kind of way, but in the "I am really proud of where I'm from and experience the freedoms that I have" kind of way. I love America and am so proud to be an American! The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays, (esp when its warm -unlike yesterday!), but even still...it was good to be with family, eating star-shaped cupcakes, and watching beautiful fireworks. Here is a glimpse of our day, hope yours was great too. xo

Looks like you had a great day (I'm craving a burger now from those pictures)! Fun sparkler shots and the one of the girls in the glow of the fireworks is great. And I still want a cupcake.

It was a great day (despite the cool weather) and you captured all the fun and yumminess! The fireworks and sparkler shots are fantastic! And yes, God Bless the U.S.A.

Hi Molly:

Gee....I'm looking old and delapidated! Maybe I need to eat more of those Hamburgers that Hillory formed up for us!

It was a great day, and I know that I will return to this particular post in the future, and just ponder it again.

In Him,

Granddad
