This week Aunt Kathie offered to take B for a couple days. At first I was thinking "how cool! Adam and I get a little break and can go out, sleep in, etc." Then the time came to say goodbye to my little girl for a couple days and I got that "maybe I can't let her go" feeling. I took a deep breath, kissed her goodbye, told her I loved her and to have a good time, and off she went. Its so funny...being a mom, you long for a break and then you get one and you all of a sudden miss your little one(s) so much. With that said, it was a lovely 2 days. Adam and I referred to it as "our oyster" -it was an unexpected surprise in the middle of a hot week. We went out to breakfast, went out to dinner, went to the movies, ran some errands, etc.. And meanwhile B was having the time of her life swimming with her cousins, eating at McDonalds, having popsicles for breakfast, skipping naps, and buying anything her heart desired from the $1 store. Not a bad way to spend a couple days eh? Aunt Kathie is the best! Adam grew up having these weekends with her and he still talks about how excited he'd be to go to Aunt Kathie's, the word "no" isn't said and the candy drawer is yours for the taking! Everyone needs an aunt like that don't they? :)
That's what we've been up to this week. I'm thrilled summer has decided to join us, but how funny that up here in the NW its either 60 degrees or 98 -how about a nice 76? Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining...I just think the crazy extremes are so random.
Sorry I've been a lame blogger...its summer, its hot, we're moving and packing and not too much to tell. I do have several shoots in the next week or so, so if you don't see any posts here, you will see some here. Hope you all have a lovely weekend, and maybe even consider eating a popsicle for breakfast. xo

Inspired by your pics of B enjoying that bright pink popsicle, I recently picked up a (LARGE) box at Costco. I've made a dent in the last week or so.
Sounds like all three of you had fun "time off"!
Aunt Kathie, huh? Nice.
Yes, she's every child's dream -- you might not have been aware of that when you were growing up, Mike.

Yup...that is Kathie, my wife's sister, and my mother-in-law's other daughter. She really is very nice...and a great sister-in-law, too!
In Him,
Doug
