We've had the air conditioning folks out 2 times and the air still isn't working properly so they are coming out again on Wednesday, awesome.
We had a plumber come out and fix a leak in a sewer pipe, then there was a huge hole in the ceiling, today the ceiling repair guy came and now there is a paint and texturing job that is needing to get done, awesome.
My mother-in-law ironed B's brand new white duvet cover, got it all pretty on her bed and then B barfed on it, awesome. (B has only thrown up a handful of times in her life so the timing was quite ironic (for lack of a better word).
I had to walk away from the whole paint fiasco in the front room. In a nutshell, my mother-in-law essentially painted the room twice (after a million trips to a million paint stores and a million paint samples later). I wanted a pale gray, that didn't happen...I got a pale blue, twice. Sigh, back to the drawing board, thinking I need to go in a more taupe direction to be friends w/ the dark wood rather than the stark contrast I'm actually getting. Again, sigh.
On an exciting news front, our refund check from the ol' government came, hooray! Time to buy a new bed (and a king bed at that -FINALLY!!).
My kitchen is nearly together, woot woot, and B's room is getting closer to together all the time. I have hopes of painting her room as well but after the downstairs train wreck I'm going to put that off until a later date when I can breath a little deeper.
We went to a birthday party on Saturday so will share some pics from that soon, it was a super cute basketball theme and the cake was delish!
Speaking of cake, I gotta take a step back from the desserts, no joke about a second on the lips a lifetime on the hips!
Today at church it was packed.out. The freshman were out in full force as Baylor starts school today, it was c.r.a.z.y.! David Crowder actually helped me a get my seat...I think he's cool. :) (I realize that a lot of folks reading this have no clue who David Crowder is but I listen to Christian radio stations a lot while in the car and he is on all.the.time. so to see him up close and personal is just kinda cool). I think Adam and I are going to try a couple more churches out to make sure we feel at home but so far so good! Oh, and today after church some folks invited us over to their place for lunch, super nice of them to include the newbies. Their 4 year old son played great with B so its fun to see her making friends too.
All in all, a few bumps but a great first week in Waco! It was sad to see the in-laws leave but I'm sure after all the help they gave us they were ready for some rest in their own beds! I'm not sure what we would have done w/out them!
Okay, this post is getting long and rambley. Head on over to my other blog to check out this shoot, I'm kinda crushing on it right now. Happy Monday! xo

Oh, the "joys" of home-ownership! Maybe I'll rent forever... Glad you're making friends already, though.
Gotta love southern hospitality. I'm so glad you're getting invited to birthday parties and lunches already. Give yourself time with the house, and the paint.... it will all come together and be nothing but impeccable, knowing your taste.
i'm in love too.
