On a happier note, we went to Tennessee this weekend! Adam and I left B w/ the Peters (thanks guys!) and met up with Mike, Doug, and Kemi for the Oregon Duck football game! When we walked on the campus all we saw was orange, Adam said "it looks like a giant cream cicle" -and it did! Some proud TN volunteers! I'm not sure if anyone reading this actually watched the game but they had over an hour delay due to weather. Needless to say, there was lightening, LOTS of rain, and some crazy wind (not super comforting when you are sitting in the highest/top row, in water, next to long metal flag poles). So, we sat there soaking wet and the game got over around midnight. But, it was all worth it because the Ducks were victorious! 48-13....NICE! I love our tradition of traveling to a Duck game every year (even though we missed last year), always a great time. Here are some snapshots I took on the ol' piece -o-crap point n' shoot -enjoy! xo

My in-laws have been living in Knoxville since April while their Pasadena home is being renovated. They are TN fans, obviously, and I understand how crazy those people are about football.. and the orange!
Wow, you guys are really being baptized by fire there in good ole Tejas. If it helps, I feel your pain. My senior year in Waco the first floor of my apartment was flooded with raw sewage--also from a city line backing up. A total MESS and disgusting beyond words. But everything got fixed up just fine (eventually) and a few weeks later friends from Denmark visited and all was well enough for them to sleep on the floor in the same room that had been flooded. So there is hope! (Though perhaps there is no hope for the Waco sewer system, which apparently has some serious problems.)
Wow, those Winns are die hard Duck fans (including you)! Lightening? I don't know if I would've stuck it out. I hope your basement is back in pristine shape soon. Ugh.
I love reading your blog...you are a great photographer and great writer...I don't have daughters so I really enjoy your blog. Thanks, Patti
So does this mean the city pays for cleanup, repairs & damages?? They certainly should!
Hi Molly:
I just keep on thinking about that sewer backup. If it did it once, it could do it again. What has the City said? Also, you insurance agent could help you place a claim for you to get it in the right form for action. We are praying for you, too. I loved the Tenn game, and the Titan game, and all the good eats....you guys are so fun to be with. My best to B and Adam.
In Him,
Granddad
