Hi all! Sorry for my lack of new posts, this new blog thing is harder than I realized. Okay, so wanted to get some schedule stuff out there in case any one is wanting a shoot, etc.. I will be shooting in Seattle/Tacoma/Gig Harbor, etc. this Saturday and Sunday. I have 2 sessions open for Saturday and 1 for Sunday. If anyone is interested, email me at mollywinn2@yahoo.com Also, on my website it says I will be shooting in Washington at the end of May but I'm actually going to be staying in Oregon that weekend so...if you were thinking of booking a shoot that weekend, you may want to reconsider for this weekend? Lastly, I do have a sneak peak up on my new blog, hoping to have a full-on post up later today (fingers crossed). So be sure and check it out here.
I got back from California today, was so good to be there but good to be home with my babes too. I flew into Burbank on Thursday, went straight to Pasadena, from there went to Azusa/Glendora, then Fullerton, then Claremont, then back to Pasadena, then to Huntington Beach, then to San Diego, then to Vista, then to San Marcos, then to Laguna Hills, then to San Gabriel, then back to Pasadena. Whew! It was a tour of southern California for sure but a great time to be out in the sun taking fun pictures of sweet folks. I'm still figuring some stuff out on my new blog, hoping to fully switch over this week...we'll see. For now, here are some pictures of Alex, a senior at my alma mater (APU) and one of the most beautiful souls walking this green earth. Thank you for the lovely morning of strolling around Glendora, Alex ~ time with you is always a treat. Now, get through these next couple weeks of finals, graduate, and then, go change the world. :) xo
A couple years ago I was talking to my father-in-law and expressing how I thought I wanted to explore the world of photography and take it more seriously. Without a moment of hesitation he said to me "well, you gotta have the tools!" He then took me to the pro-photo shop in Portland and placed my first DSLR in my hands ~ its been a whirlwind ever since! He has shared his knowledge with me, his time, and his talents, and he is who I owe a huge thank you to and would not be where I am today without. He was among the first to believe in me and to equip me with what I needed to get started and I can't and wouldn't be able to share mollywinnphotography without a sincere and heartfelt thank you to Doug, my beyond generous father-in-law and one of my biggest fans. THANK YOU!!
It has been a journey to get here, and the reality is this is only the beginning! The more I learn, the more I realize I have a lifetime of learning ahead and I look forward the ride! In this day and age photographers are a dime a dozen and I am completely humbled and honored each time someone chooses me to capture a special moment for them. So, without further ado, I'd like to extend a sincere, from -the- bottom- of- my -heart thank you to each person who has helped make mollywinnphotography a reality. I am super excited to share my new site with the world and I hope my blog followers will continue to share in my life and my work at mollywinnphotography.com/blog
Pretty crazy that after nearly 3 years of blogging here this will be among my final posts, but I'm excited to continue the journey on my new blog!! There are still a few tweaks that need to be made to my new blog before I will completely switch over, so continue checking in here until I let ya'll know that its time to move on over. Now, go HERE and check it out!! Thanks everyone! xo
Okay, so I had a blog post almost finished when I accidentally clicked on something and deleted the whole thing. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Hate it when that happens. Sigh. So, yeah, I'm not re-writing the whole thing right now. Sorry for my lack of blogging lately, been gearing up for my trip to Cali, lots to do! I leave on Thursday so there will be yet another blog lull, but I do have something to share...hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to do it!! Thanks for checking in. xo
This trip to Texas didn't allow for much photo taking time, house hunting was definitely the priority. With that said, I did get the chance to photograph this super cute baby! Jenny was saying how she did want a couple of the whole family and her older son Jackson, but Sloan was really who the shoot was all about. It was a lovely afternoon in Waco, Jenny and Jesse are building a gorgeous house about a 2 minute walk from where this shoot took place, can't wait to see everything all complete when we move this summer! Thanks so much guys, looking forward to being neighbors with you soon! xo
Thanks for your patience, we just got back from Texas and I'm uber tired. Oh, and I can say "ya'll" because I'm officially going to be a Texan!! That's right, we're moving to TEXAS!!!!!!!!! We're super excited, beyond excited in fact. Its amazing how things fall into place when God is leading, that's the easiest way I can explain it. For all of you friends/family out there feeling out of the loop...don't, this is pretty new info and we really wanted to make sure it was going to happen before we let the ol' cat out of the bag. To all my sweet sweet clients in the PNW, not to worry, I travel (in case ya'll haven't noticed...see, there I go again!) and my family is in the northwest, so I will always be back (especially in the summer, who wants to be in Waco in the summer anyway?!!)! But for now, as of August, we're Texans, Waco, Texans to be exact and we couldn't be happier. And since one big secret is just the beginning, we're also officially, for the first time ever, homeowners!! Adam and I bought our first house this weekend, and we're both pretty darn smitten with it (to put it lightly). Here is a picture of our new home, well, our new old home. :)
Admittidly, rushing out the door to get to church is not the best time to try to capture your child in their cute Easter glory. sigh. With that said, here is my sweet girl on Easter morning, with her runny nose and chapped face in what I consider to be the cutest.dress.ever!!
my haggard bunny hours later...
P.S. We're off to Texas this morning! The blog will be quiet for a few days but I promise to share a secret that I've been keeping when we get back. Happy early weekend all! xo
When I saw this family get out of the car my heart smiled a little...okay, a lot. I mean COME ON! How freaking adorable are these mohawks?! And you KNOW I'm a sucker for a sweet tattoo. This family was as fun as they are cool, period. With names like Vann, Benyt, and Kai you just can't help but ooze coolness, right?! Loved their shoot from beginning to end. Thanks guys, lovely meeting you ~ lets do it again, shall we? xo
While I was in Missouri my friend Kristen's daughter, Anna had her 6th birthday party. Kristen asked me to capture the event and I was more than happy to oblige. Seriously, no one and I mean no one throws a party like Kristen Miller. This gal thinks of everything and puts in so much time, effort, and love into each and every detail. Anna said it was her favorite birthday yet and I think you can see why! Kristen, you outdid yourself on this one and I am so happy I was there to share in the special day. Happy birthday sweet Anna, we love you!! xo
Anna's cupcake was the only one adorned with a ruby red slipper!
she even thought to put the witches feet under the house!!
The party started off with everyone meeting in the "movie room" to get their color coordinated bags to direct them which station to go to.
the tin man toss ~ the bean bags were even in the shape of hearts!!!
make your own rainbow...
scarecrow memory game...
Glinda's good walk on the yellow brick road....
Auntie Em explaining the good walk characters...
cutest Dorothy ever!
they of course had to head to the movie room to watch The Wizard of Oz!
the bad witch was there too! they kids"did away with her" by squirting her with water guns! It was a little too dark in the movie room at this point in the day to capture it but it was a hoot!
An American family of 3 living life in central Texas. Welcome to the journey! (*all images are copy right protected, please do not copy w/out written permission from me, thanks!)
