Christmas Card 2010 and a blog break

It's been quiet around here, not too much to report. The 3 of us have been hanging out a lot, just chillin'. Yesterday it was 80 degrees in Waco (so weird!) so we ate burgers outside and then went and saw "Tangled" ~ B loved it! Fun day. Its been so nice to wake up and not have much on the agenda after such a crazy season for us. I'm going to be taking a blog break until after the new year. I'm looking forward to stepping away from the computer for a bit and just relaxing with family and friends.

Here is our Christmas card for those if you who we don't know personally but wanted to see it. I'm really happy with how they turned out! I hope you all have a lovely Christmas holiday and enjoy your new year. A new year brings a fresh start, and a renewed hope, I'm really looking forward to it. Check back in on the ol' blog in 2011!! Grace and peace. xo

Homestead Heritage

A few weeks ago we went with some friends to this place called Homestead Heritage. The best way I can explain it is, its essentially a group of folks who live similarly to the Amish (not quite as hard core) and sell their food and wares at this weekend type fair several times a year. I guess you can always go out there to eat and walk around but a couple times a year they actually have a fair that you can spend the day at. We were there a few hours (before B and Everett were all done). It was fun, we ate good food, B made candles and pretzels, we watched sheep herding, bought yummy jam and just had a good time with good friends. I didn't take many pictures but here's a handful. Hope ya'll have a lovely weekend! xo

(you'll notice in practically ever photo B has her daddy close by, just how she likes it. We both think he's the cat's meow) :)

annnnnnnnd breaaaaaaathe

Yesterday was super productive for me, I checked a lot of things off my to-do list that have been haunting me for a while. Mainly I got all my Christmas presents wrapped and shipped, and ordered my Christmas cards. Whew! I feel like I can breath and relax a bit now. Happy sigh.

Here are 2 pics of of B that are new favorites of mine, I just can't decide black and white or color? Any opinions out there?

much of you

I woke up today in a fog with a headache. I took some pills, I'm on the mend. I realized I had nothing to blog today and I don't like it when I don't have a blog post for Fridays since I typically don't blog on the weekends, I like a weekend send off! Anyway, I don't have much to share, don't have photos to post, and its already after 8am on the west coast (where the majority of my readers live) so its now or never if I want to post (well, not really "never" but a lot of folks tell me they check in the am). So, what I am posting today is a song that is in my head. I don't know this song very well but the line "I want to make much of you, Jesus" has been in my head this morning. I googled the lyrics and they are beautiful so this is my post today. Normally when I have a song stuck in my head I just want it to go away, but not today. Happy Friday everyone, hope your weekend is fantastic. xo

Much of You

How could I stand here
And watch the sun rise
Follow the mountains
Where they touch the sky
Ponder the vastness
And the depths of the sea
And think for a moment
The point of it all was to make much of me
Cause I'm just a whisper
And You are the thunder and

I want to make much of You, Jesus
I want to make much of Your love
I want to live today to give You the praise
That You alone are so worthy of
I want to make much of Your mercy
I want to make much of Your cross
I give You my life
Take it and let it be used
To make much of You

And how can I kneel here
And think of the cross
The thorns and the whip and the nails and the spear
The infinite cost
To purchase my pardon
And bear all my shame
To think I have anything worth boasting in except for Your name
Cause I am a sinner
And You are the Savior

I want to make much of You, Jesus
I want to make much of Your love
I want to live today to give You the praise
That You alone are so worthy of
I want to make much of Your mercy
I want to make much of Your cross
I give You my life
Take it and let it be used

To make much of You

This is Your love, oh God
Not to make much of me
But to send Your own son
So that we could make much of You

For all eternity

I want to make much of You Jesus
I want to make much of Your love
I want to live today to give You the praise
That You alone are so worthy of
I want to make much of Your mercy
I want to make much of Your cross
I give You my life
Take it and let it be used
To make much of You

I want to make much of You
Much of You Jesus

i'm giddy for today!

Today is B's last day of school for the year and since Adam is officially done teaching for the year, we get to spend the day playing! We're gonna go to lunch, a movie, run some errands we've been meaning to do together, and just hang out! I'm giddy for the fun day ahead, a date day! I finally got on the ball and blogged this sweet newborn's session over here, so go check it out! Happy day to all of you! xo

installment #2 of snakes and sweet peas

It's been a while since my first installment so I figured it was time for another round. :)

Snakes:

*Christmas cards...I haven't done one thing for them and this stresses me out a bit

*the cost of window treatments! I still haven't purchased them yet but am getting close and am overwhelmed and how expensive those suckers are!

*its getting cold in Waco, my heat is on a lot more, my house is 100 years old so no insulation, aka: expensive heating bills!

*the last week of pre-school for B until next year! (my precious 2 days a week gone for a month-YIKES!)

* allllllllllll the shopping I still have to do for Christmas

* mail carriers breaking discs that I send clients, boo!

Sweet Peas:

* a medical bill that was from my honeymoon 10+ years ago just got refunded to me! Hooray for random money coming my way! (I was super sick on my honeymoon, a fun story for another time perhaps)

*Cute Christmas cards that keep coming in the mail from friends/family who are way more on the ball than me!

*Finally having our Christmas tree up and being able to smell it all the way upstairs...mmmmm

*Baking Christmas cookies with the ninner

*having a house that is put together (FINALLY!)

*getting into a groove and feeling normal again

* The David Crowder Band singing Christmas music on Sunday mornings (its awe.some.)

*Being married to a professor and the time off that comes with that -yipee!! (we're going to a movie in the middle of the day on Thursday while the ninner is in school because WE CAN!) :)

*being intentional about not stressing too much about all that needs to get done and taking it a day at a time and just relaxing and breathing.

and b/c blog posts need photos, here's a photo from a California session that I will get blogged later this week!

December 6, 2010

hi!

Hi there! It was such a nice weekend for us, I really feel like a whole new person now that I've gotten a taste of some breathing room. We got our Christmas tree up and decorated, we watched the Ducks BIG win, went out to lunch, watched a movie as a family, I did a photo session, I finally got caught up on the laundry, we went to church, etc.. Big things happening over here, folks. :) I hope ya'll had a lovely weekend too, would love to hear about it if you're inclined to share! I updated my business blog today so head on over here to see a newbie and her sweet fam that I photographed a few weeks ago, she's a doll baby!! Happy Monday! xo

its been good.

It's been good to feel like I can take a breather the past day or so. I have a ton of stuff to do but its not pressing, I feel like I can take my time, which is so refreshing. I used my blogging time to make a phone call to a dear friend yesterday, best decision I think. :) Sorry for no post but it was so great to just chat and catch up. I was trying to think of something personal to post, not sure I have much interesting in my life to share, sad huh?! I do get lots of requests to see more of the house so I thought I'd show a little peek into the guest room. This room needs help, its very bland at the moment. This room is not too high on my priority list since I have so many other things I'd rather put my energy into, but still, it does need some love. I recently purchased this little gray dresser and think it looks pretty sweet in there. So, here's a little glance.

Hope you all have a great weekend! xo

December 1st?!! What?!!

I'm sure I sound like a broken record but how is it December 1st already?! I haven't decorated one bit for Christmas, haven't bought a single gift (with the exception of an ornament, does that even count?!), and in typical "me" fashion (or its become typical in the past couple years) I haven't thought one iota about our Christmas cards. I think I have my work cut out for me this week! It's just been insane around here, non-stop since August but I'm thinking tomorrow might be the first day of B being at school where I'm not running around like a chicken with my head cut off from the moment she leaves for school until the moment she gets home...we'll see. I'm hopeful to have a personal post up tomorrow, maybe something having to do w/ B, or the house, or something random...I'd like to take a step away from photos for at least a day (I'm sure you'd appreciate that too huh, Michael?). :) Thanks to all of you who check in day after day, so appreciated. BUT, for today, head over here to check out this cute Texas family. Happy Wednesday, all! xo
