www = weird Waco weather

I was told before I moved here that the weather can be really crazy at times, like 80 degrees one day and freezing the next. This is true. Last week is was beautiful and warm and Adam and I were all "this is why we moved to central Texas! Warm in January!" Yesterday, it was so cold they cancelled Brennnan's school. Don't get me wrong, I think its just plain weird to cancel school just because its cold, but man alive IT IS SO COLD! The night before last Adam and I had a hard time sleeping. The thing about living in a 100 year old house is that there is zero insulation and our windows are old and rickety and thin as paper. So, when a gust of wind comes it sounds like the world is ending and you can literally feel the breeze across your face AND you smell the fresh air as if you were laying outside! Its insane! So, last night Adam and I slept in the guest room, its not only the warmest room in the house but also the most quiet. I think it got down to 14 degrees here last night and right now it is 18 degrees with a high of 25. BRRRRRRR. Needless to say, we're staying in today and drinking hot chocolate (oh, and to add to the fun, our power keeps going out!). This is not why I moved to Texas. I hope ya'll are staying warm, send us warm vibes if it is above 40 degrees where you are! xo
